Help family and friends stay organized. This year, give gifts that don’t add clutter to your loved ones’ homes. Here are some ideas:
- Bird feeder and seed
- An assortment of stamps, note cards and pens
- Zoo or museum membership
- Romantic meal-in-a-basket; a jar of sauce, a box of pasta, a bottle of wine, and a classical CD
- Tickets to the local chamber orchestra or upcoming play
- Movie tickets, plus popcorn and candy in a gift basket
- Coupon good for babysitting or a homemade dinner
Before & after : Garage storage eases clutter inside home

The Situation
Downsizing has many advantages, but can also pose a problem when it comes to storage. This client had limited storage in her town home, so she was unable to find a solution for bulk supplies, utility items and larger things, such as entertaining coolers and trays, and a cat carrier.
The Solution
We grouped like items into zones on sturdy mobile shelving to enable the home owner to move them easily for cleaning. Smaller items were stored in clear plastic boxes within their zone. This solution will help with the rotation of stock, too.

Posted on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:47 PM (No comments)It can be difficult to keep up with children’s jackets! How can you spot when their jackets are missing? Better yet, how can you help your child know when his or her jacket is gone… all before the school’s Lost & Found space is cleaned out.
For jackets: Set up one or two jacket hooks per child, depending on the main jacket(s) he or she wears. These can be in a mudroom, hallway or garage. Install hooks or use the stick-on 3M Command hooks (“holds 3 or 5 lbs.” size). After school, if the hook is empty, the jacket is missing!

Before & After: Streamline files, save time!

Here’s the situation: Residential files were created over several years, resulting in random colors and tabs, jumbled order and overstuffed folders. The client procrastinated with filing because it was cumbersome to find and file documents.
Client: Business executive
How solved:
- Weeded out old files.
- Separated too full files into multiple folders.
- Bought hanging folders in client’s favorite color and eliminated the use of all internal file folders.
- Created new tabs and lined up on the left side to make it easier on the eye.
